New Battery in Tesla

Product architect of Tesla Mr Elon Musk has said that now Tesla will have a battery, which will last two times than its earlier capacity. He also asserted that it is not just an advertising statement or exaggerated marketing strategy but scientifically true statement.

It was a month-old promise by Elon Musk. So, the electric car Tesla will cover one million miles before it is out of roads. This way Tesla will we the first option for consumer when it comes to Electric vehicle choice.
So, this fact about an electric car, which was near to Si fi a few years back will soon will be a reality.
Tesla has an agreement with the Dalhousie University and according to a paper published in The Journal of Electrochemical Society a lithium ion battery for electric vehicle has been invented which will enable electric vehicle to drive one million miles and will lose just ten percent of total energy used.
It is reported by Jeff Dahn the leading Physicist who lead to the invention of high performing lithium battery said that the new electrical vehicle battery is quite different in performance by other predecessor lithium batteries. It has also been asserted by the team that the battery can also be utilized in ongoing projects of Tesla, robotaxis and electric long trucks respectively.
Tesla has also succeeded in receiving a patent related to the battery created by it in collaboration with Dalhousie University.
The materials used in the acclaimed high performing battery are lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide, or NMC, artificial graphite and ferries lithium ions. These materials are used for cathode, anode and electrolytes respectively.



NMC or nickel manganese cobalt oxide is known for increasing the energy efficiency of batteries. Even graphite and the element like lithium added to it also adds to the energy potential of the batteries, which uses it as the composing matters.


One more secret of this high performing battery is the nano size of the cathode of this battery. The smaller the size of the battery cathode the lower the risk of crack in it. It is a well-known fact in physical and chemical world that a crack in cathode decreases the lifespan of a battery.

Thus, the secret of good performance battery in upcoming model of Tesla is revealed with some scientific facts, which can attract the thrilling mind of some science passionate.
