CONCEPT OF PAGE MAKE UP


The appropriate arrangement of news, features, articles, pictures, photographs and editorial content on the newspaper is called the makeup of the newspaper. The makeup of papers in a newspaper is must to add a greater value to the newspaper. The makeup adds to the arrangement and appearance to the newspaper. So we can say that not only the content and text but also arrangement and appearance make a newspaper user friendly and easy to read.

The first and foremost the makeup is done on paper to arrange all the items of a newspaper in an orderly manner. This helps eliminate haphazardness from the paper. Thus an appropriately arranged newspapers appeals to all and makes reader read the items easily and read more.

Secondly the newspaper makeup is done to add an individual identity to a specific newspaper. This is done keeping in mind the target audience. If the target audience old and classy people. The newspaper is given a classical look. The news can be given contemporary look to attract the youth. The academic-oriented people are attracted by providing a typical specificity to the paper.

Thirdly, the makeup is done to enhance the appeal of the content. The makeup of page and good content are complementary to the readability and market value of any written piece.

OBJECTIVE OF PAGE MAKEUP


The primary objective of makeup is to eliminate unwanted unwariness in the presentation of news, views, features, editorials and pictures on the face of a page.

Secondary objective is to add a distinct identity to the paper.

Thirdly the makeup is done to make the paper attractive and appealing for the readers.

Last but not the least the makeup is a must for a printed items in the era of electronic media, which is more visual and colorful.

On the occasion of 150 th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, CSIR-NISCAIR had organized a talk at it’s Satsang Marg premises. The topic of the talk was “How to achieve goals by infinite powers of mind: inspiration from Gandhi.” The talk was delivered by Dr. BK Paliwal . Dr. Paliwal has completed 30 awesome years in various sectors and organizations both Government and private corporates. He started his career from National Dairy Development Board. From there he switched to Dhara vegetable oil and food company limited. After serving for 7 and a half years to the company he accepted a job in Mother Dairy. After that, there was no looking back for him. He subsequently served for Cargill India Private Limited and Emami Agrotech Limited.
